Hardy's Verandah Restaurant is renowned for its spectacularly curated wine list. The original stone cellar underneath the restaurant is home to some cult wines from South Australia, the Australian continent, and of course, includes some of the great vintages of the European classics.
Since opening in 2017, Hardy's Verandah has gone from strength to strength. It was recently awarded 3 Chef Hats for the second year in a row as well as Best Restaurant at the AHA SA Awards and received a 3 Wine Glass rating as well as Best Small Bar and Best Wine List at the Restaurant & Catering SA Awards for Excellence 2019.

New to the Mount Lofty Estate, Martha Hardy’s Kitchen hails in a new era in a la carte dining
Arthur Hardy was reminiscent of a South Australian Jay Gatsby; indeed his wife Martha described their lifestyle as ‘a kind of feudal splendour’. Martha‘s love for lavish entertaining delighted guests, who often noted that there was always a leg of lamb roasting on the huge spit in the estate kitchen.
FRESH REGIONAL PRODUCE
Martha’s a la carte menu is a salute to Martha Hardy’s hearty yet elegant cooking style, with slow-cooked lamb as the signature dish. A Fleurieu Peninsula Lamb Shoulder, for two, is braised for 17 hours and served with caramelised pumpkin puree, confit turnip, heritage carrots and garlic jus.
The menu focuses on fresh regional produce with Port Lincoln Yellowfin tuna, 36 degrees Coonawarra Beef, Spencer Gulf Prawns and Murray Bridge free range chicken all accompanied by fresh spring greens and garlic and lemon infused Kipfler potatoes. Vegetarian led dishes include Mediterranean stuffed eggplant, Chimichurri Cauliflower Lemongrass and turmeric pumpkin soup, and the cheese platter, a selection of local Adelaide Hills artisan cheeses from Section 28, is served with walnut rolada, quince paste and baccos leaves.
